A Day of Collaboration, Discovery & Innovation

The SAR Annual Scientific Meeting 2024 brought together a passionate and multidisciplinary group of clinicians — anaesthetists, interventional radiologists, ODPs, nurses, and radiographers — for a day of shared learning, lively discussion, and hands-on engagement, all in service of advancing collaborative care in anaesthesia and IR.

From cutting-edge lectures to interactive workshops, our packed programme reflected the complexity and excitement of modern collaborative care.

A Standout Speaker Lineup

Our speakers — experts, educators, and innovators — delivered an exceptional mix of clinical insights and real-world wisdom. Talks covered everything from:

– Oxygenation strategies for procedural sedation

– Human factors and critical incidents in IR

– Obstetric interventional emergencies, including placenta accreta

– Regional anaesthesia techniques — capped off with a hands-on workshop

Every session was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback — and we’re proud to share that 100% of delegates said they plan to attend the next SAR event.

We’d like to recognise our chairs: Dr Michael Boscoe, Dr Nazia Khan, and Dr Tarun Sabharwal.

Huge thanks to our regional anaesthesia experts: Aarati Bapat, Megan Smith, Angelo Onofri, Sam Wong and Samson Ma.

And, of course, our models: Jeveria Raja, Ismail Tariq, Umar Nasir and Nick Budd.

Who Attended?

SAR2024 welcomed 54 attendees, including:
- Consultant anaesthetists and interventional radiologists
