A Busy End to 2023

After the summer break, activities are starting to ramp up again. You can meet with SAR at a number of upcoming international events where we will be educating the masses on various aspects of anaesthesia in IR.

Upcoming Events

CIRSE 2023, Copenhagen

The Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe focuses on continuing education and training in the fields of cardiovascular and interventional radiology. Its annual congress is always hotly anticipated. SAR President, Dr Nazia Khan, will be in attendance throughout, and will be giving a talk on, “The non-traumatic bleeding patient’, on Saturday, 9th September.

NIRS 2023, Manchester

The National Interventional Radiology Symposium 2023 is the biggest IR Juniors event in this year’s calendar. As interventional radiology procedures become more advanced, with longer and more complex procedures performed in an ageing and increasingly co-morbid population, demand for anaesthetic support continues to grow.  Dr Nazia Khan will discuss Anaesthesia and Safe Sedation in Interventional Radiology.

BSIR ASM 2023, Newport (Wales)

We will be running masterclasses on Nerve Blocks and Sedation in IR, on 8th November, 3:30 – 4:30 PM, and 10th November, 8:30 – 9:30 PM. Not all IR procedures require general anaesthesia. Not all patients are suitable for general anaesthesia. We will present alternative solutions to general anaesthesia and discuss how to deliver them optimally.

Also, don’t miss the session on New Frontiers in Pain Management on 8th November 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Nazia will be co-moderating the session with Conrad von Stempel, consultant interventional vascular and uroradiologist.
